At Three Sad Tigers Coffee, we only use the very best coffee beans. Our Honduran and Costa Rican coffees are Strictly High-Grown (SHG). Though this type of coffee bean is more difficult to source due to its mountainous locations, many consider SHG coffee — also known as Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) coffee — to produce superior flavor to that of its lowland cousins.
This enhanced flavor is the result of unique growing conditions. The higher altitudes create the right conditions for coffee beans to develop at a slower pace, maximizing the amount of nutrients being delivered to the beans. This translates to a healthy coffee bean with complex compounds (i.e., sugars), as well as exquisitely nuanced flavors associated with arabica coffee.
Three Sad Tigers also offers a Brazilian Robusta Varietal that is grown in that country’s flat highlands. Packed with bolder flavors and gifted with higher levels of caffeine, this coffee has become highly popular with those looking for an extra jolt of energy in the morning or before their workouts.
If you are looking for a smooth, nuanced coffee or a bolder pick me up, it’s time to make the switch to Three Sad Tigers. Every bag of coffee we ship is craft roasted upon order, giving every cup with an unforgettable taste.
